Is Entrepreneurship the new Gangsta Rap Trend?

linkedin-post-2.jpeg

I’m gonna go out on a limb and make this comparison based on my personal experiences and observations, that entrepreneurs are the gangsta rappers of this current modern era, and the average person wants to be like them. They want all the fluff that comes in the end but not all the shit to get there. A true entrepreneur gangsta isn’t scared to chase their dream, they have this sort of gangsta approach and lifestyle needed to get there; it’s criminal in the eyes of the blind.

Instead of flaunting guns, gang signs, and tattoos, the average or “poser” entrepreneurs shows off their up to date gadgets, cool fraternal handshakes and hugs, and hip fashion styles, read all the self-help, motivational books out there, go out of their way to get likes on social media, and have to show off everything they do, while the gansta entrepreneurs are fearless and streetwise. They work in the shadows, confident without needing to show off. They are smart, yet daring, and quite frankly the modern day hustlers.

“Henry, you look like a ganster!” That famous line from Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece Goodfellas, is what goes through my mind as I watch these entrepreneurs speak at speaking events, on social media platforms, or by the way they present themselves.

Being a gangsta, being a hustler, succeeding by any means necessary is dope and fo-real. This is the shit. This is the attitude and persona I see, someone who willing to succeed and change the world in an unconventional manner.

The polished up life coaches, motivational speakers and the 4am yoga, running, workout tribes are the new gurus of this breed of entrepreneurs.

High performance, self-made million/billionaires such as Dan Pena, Dan Lok, Gary “fucking” Vaynerchuck, Daymond John and Marc Ecko are the new kung-fuership Shaolin masters, and “we” the aspiring entrepreneurs are their pupils and puppets. Some puppets are able to cut off the strings and do their OWN THING while others become too dependent and in awe of the ones they worship and become lost.

The reality of this is that for the few aspiring entrepreneurs no matter how unconventional, risqué, criminal, or immoral they are, they are in fact successful. Not all, but the true genuine hustlerpreneurs are killing it. They are making more and living happier lives than the average moral 9-5, employee who goes about their daily mundane days complaining about everyone and everything, making excuses, blaming others for their misfortunes and ridiculing the successful hustlers.

The Alphas rule and run wild on the plains of the jungle of a world we live in. Lions rise and sheep sleep, we are all fighting to survive and the entrepreneur gangstas strive and survive, because they have that criminal mentality.

Not that they are going to steal, rape, or kill, but that they know how to step outside the box and over the lines of the rules of life. They are not products of a world of conformity. They are winners who find a way to win; the soccer players who take the street game to the structured field game.

They understand failures, they understand poverty, they understand hurt and pain of not having money, a car, a nice big home to live in, or name brand clothes. They struggle, they suffer, and like many great artists before them they paid their dues hard on the ghetto streets of life.

They need that “gangsta” attitude and mentality to get out of the shit of a world they live in or are stuck in. Whatever your shit may be they figured out HOW while others worry about this, and that, and what he or she may think, or are doing.

The entrepreneur gangsta is fearless and doesn’t give a fuck what you think or do with your life. They don’t compare their life to yours, or what is the “normal” way to live or look, nor do they care about how they get to the top of the mountain.

They dive head first into the deep end, risk their life and figure out how to swim in a vast ocean until they are able to swim with the sharks.

For the entrepreneur gangstas the world is yours. There is no can’t or barriers that can stop them. They are criminally wise and strong within. They rise up from the shadows while others who fail rush towards the light and burn their wings.

Entrepreneur gangstas understand the process and turn it into their own. They don’t try to mimic those before them, but use all they learn and turn it into their own; forget about all the rules and make their own. They are unconventional innovators not trendy motivators. They create their own rules and way.

So, no matter your feelings or thoughts of this new breed of human, these entrepreneur gangstas, hate them or love them, you have to respect them for not being afraid to chase dreams and build the life they want by any means necessary.
