The Mime

The Mime is a fantasy tale about finding your voice. The world of The Mime is not what it appears to be. It wasn’t what it once was. The Trickster changed the world and stole the mime’s voice along with Florina’s and all other artists and performers in all of Mexico.

Oaxaca is the cornerstone of the tale. Love and desire is what holds together the ties of Florina and her past. Vengeance and envy is what tears them a part. The mime and the muse dominate the Indigo Theater, Asmodeus a failed illusionist once performed on. After acquiring an esoteric magic Asmodeus disposes the mime and the muse, steals his voice and changes the world. Subsequently, Florina is left with the mime, her father’s journal, which becomes a window into the past and the door that connects both worlds.

In the alternate world there are slight differences. Asmodeus is now the Trickster. Florina unites with the mime and a group of artists and performers. Together they set out to find the Trickster to confront, in order to restore the mime, all other artist and performers’ voices, and change the world back to what it once was. It’s a journey of desire, facing fear, and temptation in an attempt to finding true meaning in oneself from within and about, revealing truth in all and the discovery of one’s voice. Ultimately though, in the end there is a bitter sweet reunion and a final magic act revealed by the Trickster which defies the voices of all.
